We had a great meeting on July 26th. We welcomed some new little ones as well as some new mom's from New Orleans. Our topic for the night was sleep, lack of sleep, and how to settle our new arrivals. We had a room of mom's giving and needing advice. After the arrival of the new baby, sleep and good sleep times can be few and far between. All our mom's agreed that a good stretch was between 3 -4 hours. However after weeks of this routine and begins to take its toll. Some of our mom's have had a tough time settling there little ones, they had tried everything and decided to go to a great support group run by the Children's Hospital in New Orleans. The group is called Snuggles and Struggles it is run by the parenting centre. This has proved to be a great help for some of our new mom's.
Sleep and lack of sleep is a huge part of being a new mom, the lack of sleep can almost send you round the twist, so try to look after yourself, but most importantly always know you can talk to us and our fellow Nola Mothers group mom's about what is happening. Take care mom's, you are all doing a wonderful job! xx
